Thomas Eddie Eakle, 78, of 606 W. Main St., died at 2:15 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital. Mr. Eakle was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Producers and Meadow Gold Dairy and Dawson Construction Co. Born Nov. 10, 1902, in Tennessee, he was a son of Jasper H. and Nancy Light Eakle. He was married in 1927 to Mary Effie Fowler, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Don Edward of Minneapolis, Minn., and Tom of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Lee Burley of Plano, Texas, and Peggy Schlei of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Guy of Fort Worth, Texas, and Alva of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Gott of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. William H. Bryant of Bowling Green, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Cleveland officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. smc
